With her imposing visual fantasy, strong sense of shape and constant desire
to conduct experiments, Anni Toubro is one of those artists that have made
glass art sculptural without sacrificing the strength of the glass as
material: Its transperancy. The transperancy that had artists of the Middle
Ages create the glorious glass mosaics in the great cathedrals as a symbol
of the life-giving light. In the art of Anni Toubro this ancient light
symbolic is incorporated with modern experiments of shape in a fascinating,
surprising and extremely sensuous way.
