The painting realized with oil, acrylic and spray paint on a 36 x 48 inches canvas, captures a glimpse of a childhood memory in a small village in northern Italy. It floats between abstraction and represantion. Falling into the abstract-expressionist family of new-figurative, where figures and represantion of reality are freely, impactfully altered by the artist feelings and perceptions, it blends floral elements (glicine), carnival costumes (Colombina, a freely interprated Poirot), fictional figure like the fairy on the right looking into a crystal ball and reflecting back to the central female figure.
The two main figures are seated on an abstract balcony, one is longing for the outer worls, looking up, the other one is looking back at us, with a firey gaze.
I like to combine untamed, chaotic, overlapping of visuals and abstract images that spontaneously emerge fom my mind's eye with some geometric structure offered by the brick patterned foundaiton of the composition and the geometric plan element by the curtain.
