Kyiv

This piece is made out of a section of a map from the country of Ukraine detailing the capital Kyiv. The map is in the Cyrillic alphabet. I painted a sheer white wash over the map leaving the name of the capital visible. Next, I applied gold leaf over the edges to signify the preciousness of the piece. I painted a pink outline on top of the gold. The entire piece is encased in clear packing tape to make it durable enough to be handled as an art currency. It is signed on the back.
