I learned how to  process salmon skin into a useable leather from another artist at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. I use the salmon skins as covers for art books that I make using water color paper and binding with a coptic stitch. The fish shapes are cut out from the left over trimmings from the book work. The fish shapes are sewn onto a 140 lb 100% cotton Arches paper.
